Kora Leiva
CONTEMPORARY AND CLASSICAL DANCE INSTRUCTOR
Freelance dancer and performer based in Barcelona, interested in dance as a space for exploration, creation, and connection. Her work moves between the stage, teaching, performance art, and audiovisual language, with a contemporary perspective on the body and its expressive possibilities. In her classes, she proposes a vibrant and sensitive approach to classical dance, understood as a tool to expand body awareness, technique, and freedom of movement.
Training
She graduated from the Professional Dance Conservatory of Valencia in 2019 and furthered her training in Turin with an Erasmus+ scholarship at the Eko Dance International Project. In 2021, she joined IT Dansa, where she continued to develop her artistic and performance experience through the repertoire of highly acclaimed international choreographers. She currently complements her dance background with studies in Audiovisual and Performing Arts Production.
Professional Career
Since 2023, Kora has been developing her career as a freelance artist in Barcelona, balancing her stage work with teaching, performance art, and audiovisual creation. Her career as a dancer has led her to perform works by choreographers such as Akram Khan, Ohad Naharin, Gustavo Ramírez Sansano, Cayetano Soto, and Lorena Nogal, integrating an open perspective on contemporary stage performance, collective movement, and movement direction into her practice.
For Kora, dance is a space where the body can be thought about, felt, and transformed in relation to space and others. She views technique as a starting point, not a limit: a structure from which to open up new possibilities for movement, presence, and expression. In her work, classical dance becomes a vibrant, sensitive, and contemporary tool, capable of connecting the precision of the body with the freedom of interpretation and the power of the collective.
What will you learn with KORA?
With Kora, you will learn to experience classical dance as a tool to better understand your body and expand its movement possibilities. Her classes start from classical language and structure, but approach technique from a sensory, physical, and contemporary perspective. Through barre work, center work, spatial work, and stretching, you will develop body awareness, alignment, musicality, coordination, and presence. A space to find more freedom within technique, go beyond form, and build a more personal, expressive dance connected with the group.
