Dance Master and Choreographer

Máximo Hita, known in the profession as The Master, comes from a family connected to art, including musicians and painters. He entered the world of dance at an early age, completing his professional studies at the Institute of Theater of Barcelona in 1972, subsequently becoming a founding member and performer of the Contemporary Ballet of Barcelona. He completed his studies in Europe, the U.S., and a large part of South America.

Knowledgeable in the foundational techniques for modern dance, Horton and Graham, he studied with the greatest jazz technique masters: Mattox, Luigi, and Giordano. He is known for being one of the few choreographers in our country familiar with the FOSSE style.

Solid Training and Extensive Experience

Máximo Hita is an expert in a variety of dance styles, ranging from the modern techniques of Horton and Graham to the vibrant world of jazz, with influences from masters like Mattox, Luigi, and Giordano. Furthermore, his mastery of the FOSSE style in choreography has earned him recognition as one of the most prominent choreographers of his generation.

Professional Career

With over 30 years of experience in dance education, Máximo Hita has left a profound impression on generations of dancers. As a founding member of the Contemporary Ballet of Barcelona and a collaborating artistic director for renowned directors and choreographers such as Mario Gas and Karen Connolly, Máximo has demonstrated his ability to fuse technique with emotion, creating works that transcend time and space.

He has worked as an artistic and movement director with national and international directors such as Mario Gas, Lluís Omar, Roger Peña, Ricard Reguand, and as a performer with renowned choreographers like Karen Connolly, Molly Molloy, Alan Johnson, Larry Fuller, and R. J. Peters.

He has a long professional career of over 30 years in teaching and training professionals dedicated to dance, serving as Director and teacher at the Company & Company Dance School.
